Our boat to vietnam

Mr. Phung left his country in a boat 17 years ago. We figuered out it would be nice if he returened in one too, so we took a river cruise down a river. A nice trip, especially on Vitnamees side of the border.

It started bad. Up 5:30, suppose to leave with minibus to the boat. But it was late, a lot. When it finally came it just drew us a really short distance to another hostel, with a manchine gun on the reception desk. Where we had to wait, the rason I guess is that they wanted us to use some money on breakfast, but what can you expect from a trip with a price of 5 US$.

Finally the minibus started up again, on the way it seemed like it worked like a taxi. Two hours later, around ten or maybe eleven we were finally at the boat. A smal really noisy fellow.

First border stop to get stamp out of Cambodia. eeded to climb up a moutain. Then back down again, and on the boat. To effectivise with a border control of Cambodian and Vietnam at the same place seem like an impossible task.

Two minutes with boat later new stop, this time for entering Tittens country number 40. A smal boy shows us where to go with my backpack, bigge rthan him on his back (see photo). First a dude not with the authorithy we need to check our passport, so he run to find another guy. He use one sec and then we are on our way to next stop. Here we need to pay some money, for what I do not know. 2000 dong, less than 15 cents.

We walk some more along the river. Then a guy comes driving on a motobike. He stopes and gives us two immigrations sceemes we need to fill in. Then we walk some more, and we enter a restaurant. Again it seems like we need to eat something we didnt plan to eat. We sit down and a girl comes over. She say they need to check our luggage first. the we go through a control and back to the restaurantm and now we have to order. It kinda seemed like we had to, to get permission to enter the country. The girl takes the schemes and the passport to go and fix us our stamp.

We eat, we pay, she comes back, and we go to a new boat.

After a new nice boat trip we enter chau doc in vietnam. Tittens country number 40.th and Mr. Phungs birth country. After beeing freinds for soon ten years, can I finally see his country.
